FAQ – Workshops

Since 2016, “workshops” have been organized several times a year: they truly live up to their name, as they are always packed with (challenging) exercises, hands-on practice, and plenty of interaction.

The two topics that are covered on a regular basis – and for which very nice syllabi have been developed – are “Lactate Testing” and “Designing Training Programs.”

The “Lactate Testing” course has been organized exactly 25 times, with approximately 400 trainers from Belgium and the Netherlands in attendance. The “Designing Training Programs” workshop has been held exactly 10 times.

The “Lactate Testing” course spans 2 days (usually 2 consecutive Saturdays), while “Designing Training Programs” lasts 3 days.

New sessions are typically announced on this website about three months in advance.

Workshops, lectures, or courses can also be organized upon request. We can discuss the content, format, and timeframe. The “traditional” content and format can always be adapted. If your organization is willing to help support the event, we can make it a win-win situation!

The syllabus for the Lactate Testing course has since been replaced by the English-language book “Lactate Testing: An Evidence-Based and Practical Guide” (Skribis, 2025) and can be purchased separately through the online store.

The syllabus for the workshop about Designing Training Programs course is only available as part of a workshop and must not be sold separately like an official book.

Of course! All questions are welcome at any time, and you’re guaranteed an answer from Karel!

Never hesitate to send Karel a message. If the questions turn out to be too extensive, or if questions come in on a regular basis, we can always discuss doing this via a video call and/or for a fee.

Work in progress !

"Lactate testing, an evidence-based and practical guide" (2025) will also become available as an e-book! #StayTuned ;-)
